Labi Amor,
I want to thank you first of all for this site. It
makes me feel exotic, and sexy. I'm a nineteen year old female with
larger inner labia, and ever since I can remember, I've always felt
like I was weird, and abnormal. It has really effected my self esteem
for the long run, and I hope one day I will come to grips with the
beautiful peice of artwork God placed on my body. I just want to
know, how common is large inner labia? Do you know what percentage of
women have it? I am in a rough spot and I would like to know if you
do.

Apparently there exists very little scientific research about the variation of labia size among women. The largest study was done somewhere in the beginning of the twentieth century by Robert Latou Dickinson, a New York gynecologist. As it says in the middle of this page (attention, the text is loooong), he found that in 1000 consecutive gynecological cases the labia showed some form of hypertrophy in 36 percent, or about 1 in 3. Another researcher named Bergh found very enlarged lips in about 16 percent of women. No matter the exact percentages, gynecologists describe labial hypertrophy as an anatomic variant rather than a malformation.
There is so much variation in the size and shape of genitals and its parts, much more than for facial features like noses or mouths for instance. It's understandable then why it's not uncommon for adolescent girls and boys to worry about the "normalcy" of their genitals. You however won't be worrying for much longer! You felt sexy and exotic when you browsed through this site and that's because you are. Your larger labia make your genitals sexy and distinguished, the opposite of plain vanilla! Like another girl said so well earlier on, "to many men your large labia will add to your looks, not detract."
