Clit piercings and labia rings

A clit or labia piercing—of the labia minora, majora or clitoris hood—is quite popular the last few years. Until the late nineties, a woman with rings in her labia or clit was always associated with the BDSM scene. But like other types of body piercings, adding rings to the vulva is now accepted as just another way of decorating the body.

As with most fashions and fads, it's female pop stars and Hollywood personalities that are leading the way for genital piercings to become a common procedure. Christina Aguilera for instance was known for wearing a diamond stud in her clitoral hood, that is until the sexy singer removed all but her right nipple ring (see article at FemaleFirst: Christina Aguilera removes her body piercings)

Unlike clip-on labia jewelry, piercings are of course a more drastic way of decorating the vulva. The procedure is similar to the way you get an earring and any punctures are permanent. Small labia rings like in the picture above will only leave tiny holes, which are hardly noticeable when the rings are removed.
