Thanks Labi for the better link.

I'm going to start with recapping an episode of "The Doctors" show
when they brought a woman who was ashamed of her long labia and was
scared to date because of that.
The intro was this : "we always
hear that the bigger is the better, but their is one part of the
female body where the bigger is not good!" Dr. Ordon says: " There is
an ideal relationship between the outer lips and the inner lips."
None of the doctors talked about how normal and common large
labia are and there is no reason to be ashamed of it. Instead they
brought someone who offered to do labiaplasty on her for free to
relieve her from her agony! (I bet that was an excellent ad for the
"angelic" doc!) Then the crowd cheered and the poor victim says that
she had no idea that such procedure existed and she is so thankful to
find out she can have them chopped off!
Then the doc says
that he is so glad that this procedure is coming out of the closet
and labiaplasty is becoming more common! (What a shame this show is
supposed to be educational)
On another episode Dr. Lisa Masterson
says that many women bleach their labia because they are ashamed of
the dark color but their is another "solution"! She introduces a
product which is artificial pink dye for labia. Guess how much they
get for commission! (Thumbs up for cancer, irritation, racism,
pedophilia and misogyny, yay!)
Same happened on a supposedly
educational British program "Embarrassing Teenage Bodies":
www.thefword.org.uk/reviews/2009/02/channel_4_show
and
the list goes on...
So we need to counteract these countless
attacks on misinformed women! "Tyra show" is my last hope for now...
Tyra Banks has been an advocate of all body types and has covered
all body parts on her show except the labia!
She did once brought
a gyno who explained the vulva anatomy and briefly mentioned that the
size of the labia are very diverse, but no particular attention to
this issue.
So I ask all the women and loving men on this site to
please message Tyra show and ask them to have a show about the
diversity of labia forms and the scam that labiaplasty is.
I went
to this link
community.tyrashow.com/group/bigideasforthetyrashow
signed up (only takes a minute) and
wrote a message
But we need to hurry up because I heard this is
the last year of Tyra show! Maybe we can bring the significance of
this issue to their attention. Thanks.
Dear Jessica,
I didn't catch that episode of "The Doctors" but I'm so disappointed that none of them took a stand against this labiaplasty insanity. Dr Andrew Ordon is a plastic surgeon, so no surprise there... but the others!? Do you remember on what date this episode was?
Bellavita, the woman who wrote the revealing article about Channel 4’s series Embarrassing Teenage Bodies, really seems to know what she's talking about. The two of you should get in contact. Maybe she can help with some ideas on how to get this topic on Tyra's show.
I found another link to write Tyra (this one doesn't require
signup):

Jessica! I have already messaged her and left countless comments on her page but unfortunately there was never a response. And now the Tyra show is coming to an end!!! There is only one episode left (next week). So It looks like we need to think of a different plan. I have been dying to go on her show and talk and educate women on labia, if anyone is on any of the facebook groups I have actually mentioned asking Tyra to cover it on her show (she is my fav celebrity). So unfortunately it seems like we need to start brainstorming again. :(

I will write to Tyra also..
I actually wrote Oprah an email like
2 years ago hoping she would shed some light on the topic on her show
since she often has sex doctor Laura Berman on the show.. However i
never got a response, and havent seen anythign in depth mentioned on
the show. And of course now shes going off the air also..

Jessica,
I submitted Tyra an e-mail about the show topic at
the link you provided.
K and Shawna:
Yeah, I think
you ladies might be right. I think it'll also take a more
significant effort from our community to make this happen. Just
3 or 4 of us submitting this as a show idea may not be enough when
the producers consider the show's controversial topic and the ratings
that almost certainly will be caused as a result of the show airing
about this topic. Maybe we need to re-think our strategy, or
have a more concentrated effort by more of the SexyLabia.com
community. Either way, as you ladies know, I am always in
support, and at your full and complete disposal should you require me
to do anything in support of spreading the word about the naturalness
and ideal of the female body and her labia. =0)
