I have an idea. We can chat with each other for free, using SKYPE by chatting through our computers. If we use webcams together with Skype, we can see each other and chat at the same time.
What do you guys think?

The simple way is. . .why don't we all just share our IM contact details here. . .

If you guys REALLY want, I could setup a mailing list that would allow everyone to see everyone's messages (it would be subscription based obviously, so that people could unsubscribe if they don't want to participate anymore).

As you all know, I'm the technical guy of the crowd here, so whatever we need I can probably provide. . .if you guys/gals are REALLY interested in a chat room/mailing list system, just let me know, and I'll get working on it.

For now, we can all exchange IM contact info. . .I'll go first, but be sure to let me know if you're interested in having live chat/mailing list system setup!

As I see you guys/gals add your "handles" here, I'll add you to my Skype, and if I get enough requests for a mailing list system/live chat system, with Labi's blessing, I'll set it up at no charge so that we can all get to know each other better and faster (in real-time).

Im interested in a live chat, like with a bunch of us all at once, but not so much one on one talk with different people at different times, ya know? It might be kind of hard to do considering a lot of us are in different time zones.. And im very iffy about putting any contact information up here. I just dont want anybody i know being able to make any ties between me and this website cus i would be really really embarassed... Ive already had to make up a separate email address for the few people on here that i have talked to through emails..

I like the idea, although I'll have to set up a Skype account first.  

And the subscription idea is cool too, although I'm a bit too much of a tightwad to be able to participate unless it's also free.

Okay let me clarify. . .if I setup a chat system, we'd all be able to chat without the worry of time zones (i.e. just talk if you're online).

K, you are WAY to paranoid girl.  If anyone should be nervous about people "finding out" about things it should be me.  I plan to pursue a political career in the next 10-12 years!  I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you K.

Now, about the subscription based mailing system. . .when I say subscription I don't mean there is a cost involved.  It would be free.  When I say subscription based, I mean you'd have to "subscribe" to the list itself, so that you can receive messages from the rest of the "community" and such.

Anyway if I get at least 10-12 people interested, I'll setup a free chat system, as well as a free subscription-based system that will allow us all to communicate easily by e-mail, share pics by e-mail, etc. (of course with Labi's blessing!)

No, you're not being a smart-ass at all. . .

But what we're doing here is not quite the same thing, in the sense that it is not REAL-TIME, where as what I've been proposing is REAL-TIME.

Still, let me know how you folks feel about it.

If I get enough interested people, I'll discuss it with Labi, and get it setup.
