Sure, send it in. You're doing the right thing to ask for her permission first, but make sure she's very comfortable with the idea before actually sending it. I assume she'll be the one handling the camera while you're handling the lips right? If you go digital she can take a bunch of different shots on different occasions until you have that one photo that both of you really like. Try to be creative and play with the lighting and such. Avoid using a frontal flash because that usually gives a flat and uninteresting result. But hey, for all I know she and you are seasoned photographers and I'm just wasting my breath here!
