I'm a bit surprised that you've met that many men who don't like large lips. I've polled my inner circle of friends and there are just a few guys who prefer small labia on a girl. Coincidence or not, they are also the least intelligent. The others don't care or prefer larger ones.
But then again, labia size is not something most men talk about among each other. For one, some guys are simply not that sexually sophisticated or interested to notice the difference between large and small lips. A hole is a hole to them—who cares about labia right?
I also noticed that some men are a little embarrassed to say they like big lips and I assume this applies to some of your friends also. Guys among each other like to keep up the image of being the non-caring, tough macho stud. We want other guys to believe we're only interested in fucking the chick hard, then kick her out the door and get ready for the next one.
So when a guy tells his buddies that he likes big lips and pays attention to the details of a girl's vulva, he is in fact admitting that he is not just interested in fucking her. Now that might make him look too sensual in the eyes of his buddies! But guys forget that as a man you can be a tough-guy and be sensual all-in-one.
Of course, just like there will always be men who don't want girls with small lips, there will also be those who will never like big pouty lips, for whatever strange reason that may be.
